AP Gov Update for December 16-20

This is our last week before break! Current Events for this week is for the first half of the alphabet.  This is going to be Current Events Grading Period 3, CE#2. The second half of the alphabet will turn in their Current Events on Monday, January 6.  The first day students return for the year is January 3. Here is the agenda for the week: Monday: New Preamble paper Turn in the Supreme Court tissue box project.  #2 on the paper should be name of the case and the year it went to the Supreme Court. We will have students rotate through the classroom to get details for each case. Welcome to the new school year.  You will be receiving this update on a weekly basis throughout the school year to let you know what we are doing for the upcoming week. AP Pre-Administration will take place in the library at 8:00 on Monday.  You will need to bring the remainder of your fees to pay for the AP exam. AP Gov Update for February 5

State of the Union - take a picture of your own Bingo Board creation after the SOTU.  Post to either Twitter or Instagram and use #GraftonGov. Social Studies Fair Set up Wednesday starts at 3:30 at TCMS Library.  Please set up by 4:00.  There may already be judging taking place when you arrive.  Please be courteous. There are two projects that have said they will not be able to make it to TCMS on Wednesday.  Please bring your project to school on Thursday to be scored.   We will finish the group required cases reviews on Wednesday in class.

AP Gov Update for week of February 4-8

Social Studies Fair information The make-up date is Wednesday, February 6 at Taylor County Middle School.  Please get there before 4:00.  Please let me know on Monday if you cannot attend The second half of the alphabet will have Current Events (Grading Period 4, CE#3) on Monday or Tuesday.  They will be accepted on Tuesday since you may not have a copy of the Current Events form yet. Keep the Preamble papers from last week.  There will be no Preamble for this Monday as we will use the paper from last week and will be turned in this Friday with questions from this Tuesday through Friday. Mr. Zukowski may video record some lessons in class starting this week.  Students release forms were turned in previous weeks. Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.

Happy New Year!  I hope you are well rested and preparing to finish your school year to graduate!  This semester will be very accelerated to prepare for the AP Exam. There will be many materials distributed the first day we return.  These include materials for the presidency and materials to study for the 27 Amendments to the Constitution. Be sure to complete assigned Khan Academy lessons on the presidency by January 11.   Remember to prepare for the Social Studies Fair at the end of the month.
