AP Gov Update for January 3-11

Happy New Year!  I hope you are well rested and preparing to finish your school year to graduate!  This semester will be very accelerated to prepare for the AP Exam.

There will be many materials distributed the first day we return.  These include materials for the presidency and materials to study for the 27 Amendments to the Constitution.


  • Be sure to complete assigned Khan Academy lessons on the presidency by January 11.  


Remember to prepare for the Social Studies Fair at the end of the month.

Thursday, January 3

  • New Current Events schedule distributed
  • Amendments handouts (you can access to study these on Quizlet)
  • Chapter 12 Vocabulary (due Wednesday, January 9)
  • Chapter 12 Study Guide distributed
  • List of Presidents from 20th-21st Centuries
  • Read pages 396 to 404 for Friday


Friday, January 4

  • Read pages 405-408 for Monday


Monday, January 7

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
