AP Gov Update for January 21-25


  • FAFSA Thursday Night 5-7 
  • There are some Khan Academy assignments to complete.  Please complete these by Friday night.
  • Please turn in the Student Release forms from last week
  • The second half of the alphabet will be turned in on Tuesday.  Grading period 4, CE#2

  • Read AMSCO book p.232 to 270 by next Monday.
  • Read pages (textbook) p.104-109 for Tuesday

Tuesday:
  • New Preamble paper
  • Turn in Current Events
  • Letter From Birmingham Jail - Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • List of required court cases for AP Exam
  • EQ Notes 4-1:  How the Bill of Rights related to the States
  • Read pages 109 to 116 for Wednesday
Wednesday:
  • Preamble
  • Crash Course Video - Freedom of Religion
  • EQ Notes 4-2:  How does the Bill of Rights include religion
  • Read pages 116 to 126 for Thursday
Thursday:
  • Preamble
  • EQ Notes 4-3:  Freedom of Expression
  • Must Know Supreme Court Cases p. 234-235 (AMSCO book - Bring to class on Thursday)  

Friday:
  • Preamble turned in
  • Work on Social Studies fair projects.  Bring materials.
  • Read AMSCO book for Monday.

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
