AP Gov Update for January 28 to February 1


  • Current Events (Grading Period 4, CE#2) is due on Monday.
  • Wednesday and Thursday look to be very cold.  They may be the first ICE Pack days.  Be sure you have your book and packets at home.
  • Bring your AMSCO books this week.
Monday:
  • Preamble
  • Khan Academy assignments are due tonight
  • Current Events
  • EQ Notes 4-3:  Freedom of Expression
  • Must know Supreme Court cases:  p. 234 to 235
Tuesday:
  • Magistrate Bolton will be in speaking about Civil Liberties, specifically Amendments three through eight.
Wednesday:
  • Preamble
  • We will review concepts from the AMSCO book
  • Read pages 126 to 129 for Thursday (Yellow Text)

Thursday:
  • Preamble
  • EQ Notes 4-4:  Freedom of assembly and right to bear arms
  • Read pages 130-142 for Friday

Friday:
  • Preamble (turn in)
  • EQ Notes 4-5: Defendants' civil liberties

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
