AP Gov Update for December 2-6

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Break!  We are getting back on track this week.

Remember that Current Events for the first half of the alphabet is due on Monday.  This is Grading period 3, CE#1.

Bring your AMSCO book on Monday.

Here is the agenda for the week:

Monday:

  • New Preamble paper
  • Current Events for first half of the alphabet.  
  • FRQ Practice using AMSCO book (p.155-157, p.186-188))
  • Chapter 16 Vocabulary distributed
  • Read pages 393 to 400 for Tuesday


Tuesday:

  • Preamble
  • Vocabulary Quiz - Use class Quizlet to see which terms.  Multiple Choice 20 terms.  
  • Introduction of Chapter 16 - the Judiciary
  • Questions for 16-1 (Judicial Review) and 16-2 Development of the Federal Courts


Wednesday:

  • Preamble
  • p.397 Landmark Case -Marbury v. Madison
  • Thinking Maps for Federal and State courts (dual court system)
  • Read pages 400 to 409 for Thursday


Thursday:

  • Preamble
  • Video - Structure of the Court System
  • Questions - Section 16-3 (The Structure, Jurisdiction, and Operation of the Federal Courts)



Friday:

  • Preamble - turn in
  • Video - U.S. Supreme Court Landmark Cases 
  • PIPS Quiz
