AP Gov Update for Week of October 29-November 2

Current Events is due for the second half of the alphabet on Monday.  I will not be at the school on Monday.

Monday:

  • No Preamble.
  • Bring your AMSCO book on Monday.  There will be a quiz on Monday for chapters 1, 2, and 16.
  • Chapter 8 Vocabulary
  • Read pages 256 to 263 for Tuesday


Tuesday:

  • Preamble 
  • Chapter 8 Study Guide.  There will be a chapter test for chapter 8.  The assignment sheet will be for both chapters 7 and 8.
  • EQ Notes 8-1:  What are the functions of political parties in American democracy?
  • Read pages 263 to 268 for Wednesday
  • Required Social Studies Fair projects  - we will discuss requirements.  Think about a category topic (anthropology, economics, geography, political science, psychology, sociology, state and local studies, U.S. History, World History/International Studies)


Wednesday:

  • Preamble
  • Crash Course video on Political Ideology
  • EQ Notes 8-2:  How are political parties organized?
  • Read pages 268 to 276 for Thursday


Thursday:

  • Preamble
  • Crash Course video on Political Parties
  • EQ Notes 8-3:  What have been trends in American elections?



Friday:

  • Turn in Preambles
  • Crash Course Videos on Party Systems
  • FRQ writing practice
Current events for next week will be for the first half of the alphabet (Grading Period 2, CE#2)

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
