AP Gov Update for October 8-12

The first half of the alphabet will turn in current events on Monday.  This will be Grading Period 2, CE#1.

Please log onto your Khan Academy account by Tuesday to add a course to your account.  An assignment will be given on Tuesday that will need to be finished by next Monday.  You will need to click on "Coaches" and put in the join code. If you need assistance with this, see Mr. Zukowski before school, during AA, or after school.   The join code is:  TFW9QU4F

Here is the agenda for the week:


Monday:

  • Preamble
  • Current Events discussion
  • We are going to have different discussions take place using discussion prompts.  These discussions will be shared with different groups.
  • REad pages 210-214 for Tuesday.


Tuesday:

  • Preamble
  • There is will a vocabulary quiz for chapters 1-2-3.  Please refer to the class Quizlet to help you study.
  • EQ Notes 6-4:  How are polls conducted and what can be learned from them?
  • Create your own polls


Wednesday:

  • Create polls and distribute them online.
  • Read pages 214-219 for Thursday.  


Thursday:

  • Preamble
  • EQ Notes 6-5:  How is political participation divided into two broad types?



Friday:

  • Preambles turned in
  • LiveBinder activity.  A link will be given to you via school email and you will complete a worksheet.

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
