AP Gov Post for October 15-19
There will be a couple of extra credit opportunities available for students this week. You can earn up to 50 extra credit points. This was explained in class on Friday. There are two opportunities. The first is to attend the Meet the Candidate Forum at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW Hall on Main Street in Grafton. This will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16. This will be a moderated event with questions asked by a presenter and possibly questions from the audience.
The second option is to watch 2 videos online. The videos are currently online on Facebook. You will need to search for "Unleash Tygart". There are a series of videos that are dated October 5 and October 9. These include candidates for State Senate, House of Delegates, County Commission, and U.S. House of Representatives.
For both of these options, you will need to pick up a paper on the table in front of Mr. Zukowski's desk on Monday or Tuesday. If you attend the event on Tuesday evening, you will need to turn in the paper by Thursday. If you watch the videos, you will turn in the paper by Friday.
For Current Events on Monday, the second half of the alphabet will turn in Grading Period 2, CR#1.
You need to complete the Khan Academy assignments by Wednesday evening.

- Essential Question Quiz
- Work on your study guide and your Khan Academy.
- Political Profile essay will be assigned. You will complete a rating with your opinions and then give the same to one of your parents. You will type an essay about it. The directions are on the assignment. You will use Microsoft Office and name the document "Political Profile *Name*" and share with rzukowsk@k12.wv.us.
Tuesday:

- Discuss Current Events
- Time is given to work on assignments in class.
Wednesday (Some students will be touring WVU):
- Chapter 6 test
- Chapter 7 Vocabulary
- Read pages 224-234 for Thursday.
- Khan Academy due.
Thursday:
- Preamble
- EQ 7-1 Notes: How do American politicians choreograph their messages through mass media over time?
- Read pages 234-241 for Friday.
Friday:
- Complete and turn in Preamble
- EQ 7-2 Notes: How has newer forms of media impacted politics?
- Read pages 242 to 252 for Monday.
