AP Gov Update for October 22-26

Current Events will be due for the first half of the alphabet on Monday.  This will be Grading Period 2, CE#2.

If you intend to turn in reviews of the Unleash Tygart videos, they must be turned in on Monday.  None will be accepted after Monday.

Here is the agenda for the week:

Monday:
  • Read AMSCO book p. 557 to 564 for Monday
  • Preamble
  • EQ Notes 7-2
  • Read textbook pages 234 to 241 for Tuesday
  • Read AMSCO p. 564 to 571 for Tuesday

Tuesday:
  • Preamble  
  • EQ 7-3 Notes:  What are the criteria that used to determine which news stories receive the most media attention? 
  • Read AMSCO 571-577 for Wednesday

Wednesday:

Thursday:

  • Turn in Preamble.
  • Examining Media Sources Assignment.  You will be comparing different ideological viewpoints on similar news stories.



Friday:

  • Mr. Mahon will speak to the class about Senior Counseling information.

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
