AP Gov Update for August 20-24

As we go into the first full week of school, I am pleased with the dedication you all have completed the summer assignments.

Here is the agenda for the week:

Monday:

  • We will start with the daily Preamble (bellringer acitivity)]
  • You should have read pages 2-11 for Monday.
  • You will receive a vocabulary paper for Chapter 1 that will need to be finished by Wednesday.
  • All students will receive a copy of the Constitution that will be known by everyone as "your handy dandy Constitution book."
  • We will complete Essential Question Notes 1-1 about the functions of government.
  • Read pages 11-19 for Tuesday.  


    • Tuesday:

    • All students will be introduced with current events assignments on Tuesday.  Current Events will be due every other week starting next week.
    • Essential Question notes 1-2 about. the principles and theories of government  will be completed.
    • Read pages 20-23 for Wednesday.

    Wednesday:

    • EQ Notes 1-3 about hte values of American political culture.


    Thursday:

    • We will be analyzing the Declaration of Independence


    Friday: 

    • Turn in this week's Preamble assignments.
    • Discussion about the AP Exam

    Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

    This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

    Social Studies Fair Information

    This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
