AP Gov Update for week of November 27-December 1

***First half of the alphabet will be required to turn in Current Events on Monday. 

***Quizlet Chapter 6 Study Guide is posted here. 

***I would like everyone to add this class on Edmodo.com.  You will need to log onto Edmodo with your school Office 365 account.  Once you enter Edmodo, enter class code 86ts5s  Please do this by the end of the week.  If you need assistance, go to room 201 during AA.  

 Here is the agenda for the week:

 Monday:

  • Read pages 190-200
  • You will be assigned chapter 6 vocabulary to complete by Wednesday.  The entire vocabulary assignment must be finished in order to get a grade.  
  • EQ 6-1 Notes about demographics, the census, and its impact on national politics.
  • Read pages 200-202 for Tuesday.


 Tuesday:

  • We will get into political socialization with EQ 6-2 notes. 
  • Read pages 202 to 210 for Wednesday.


Wednesday:

  • Vocabulary will be checked.  The entire assignment must be finished in order to get a grade.
  • EQ Notes 6-3 about political polling.
  • Reading "20 Questions about Polling."


Thursday:

  • Students will work together to create a political poll.  
  • Read pages 210-214 for Friday.



Friday: 

  • Vocabulary Quiz on chapter 1-6.
  • Turn in Total Recall.
  • EQ Notes 6-4, influence of political ideology
  • Reading quiz on Monday for pages 214 to 220.  Here are the possible questions;
    • How does conventional and unconventional political participation differ?
    • How do protest and civil disobedience differ?
    • What is the correlation between income/education levels and political participation?

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
