AP Gov Update for February 12-16

***Current events for the first half of the alphabet is due on Monday.  It is "Grading Period 4, Current Events #3."
***The end of the grading period is Friday.  All late work must be turned in by Monday, February 19.
*** If you want to check to see if you are registered to vote, click this link.
***An email has been sent about Heroin(e).  There will be a viewing at Buffalo Flats in Downtown Grafton, Friday, February 16, at 6:30 p.m.

Here is the schedule for the week:


Monday:

  • New Total Recall paper.
  • Finish 11-4 Notes from Friday
  • Crash Course 7 Video - Process of Congressional Bills


Tuesday:

  • Total Recall Question
  • 11-5 Notes on bill process.



Wednesday:

  • Vocabulary Quiz on chapter 8 and 11
  • Essential Question Quiz.  Here are the potential questions:
    • EQ 11-1:  Describe four typical backgrounds/demographics of members of Congress?
    • EQ 11-2:  How can advertising, casework, and pork barrel assist a member of Congress to get reelected?
    • EQ 11-3:  How does congressional leadership differ?
    • EQ 11-4:  How can legislative oversight impact checks and balances?
    • EQ 11-5:  How do interest groups play a role in the legislative process?


Thursday:

  • Chapter 11 test
  • Chapter 12 vocabulary
  • Register to vote
Friday:
  • Work on Congressional writing
