AP Gov Update for week of October 16-20

The first half of the alphabet will be turning in Current Events on Monday (Grading Period 2, CE #2).  Be sure to have your study guide completed before Friday. 

Here is the schedule for the week:

Monday:

  • We will complete the "Religion at My School" activity
  • Sample FRQ questions
  • Handout Tuesday's activity for those who won't be attending class due to NHS.


Tuesday:

  • Freedom of Expression activity
  • Read pages 126-129 for Wednesday.



Wednesday:

  • Discussion of Freedom of Expression activity.
  • Completion of EQ Notes 4-4:  Freedom of Assembly and Right to Bear Arms
  • Read pages 130-142 for Thursday



Thursday:

  • EQ 4-5 Notes:  How does the Bill of Rights protect defendants' rights?
  • Read pages 143-145 for Friday




Friday:

  • Turn in Total Recall
  • EQ 4-6 Notes:  Is there a right to privacy?
  • There will be an Essential Question Quiz on Monday.  There will be 2 questions you will need to answer.   Here are the possible questions.  
    • EQ 4-1:  How is the Fourteenth Amendment used to incorporate portions of the Bill of Rights to the states?
    • EQ 4-2:  What are the three parts of the Lemon Test as confirmed by Lemon v. Kurtzman?
    • EQ 4-3:  What is prior restraint?
    • EQ 4-4:  What must groups abide by when planning to assemble?
    • EQ 4-5:  How does Miranda v. Arizona and Gideon v. Wainwright relate?
    • EQ 4-6:  How did the Supreme Court create the right to privacy?
Chapter 4 Test will be next Tuesday.
