AP Gov Update for September 25-29

The second half of the alphabet will turn in Current Events 1-3 this Monday.   If you have any late assignments to turn in, turn them in by Thursday at 7:55 am. Here is the schedule for the week: Monday: New Total Recall for the week. Current Events Finish Federalism document from Friday Discussion of the events from the weekend concerning First Amendment and Trump/NFL. Read pages 84 to 94 for Tuesday. Tuesday: Total Recall EQ Notes 3-3:  How has the shift from dual federalism to cooperative federalism changed intergovernmental relations. Assign groups to work on the study guide. Wednesday: Total Recall Continue work on the study guide. Thursday: Total Recall Essential Question Quiz.   Here are the possible questions: Bill of Rights Hands game Friday:   Turn in Total Recall Turn in chapter 3 packet Chapter 3 Test Chapter 4 vocabulary

AP Gov Update for Sept 18-22

Reminder:  There is the Constitution Day Lecture at the Mother's Day Shine at 3 p.m. on Sunday. First half of the alphabet will be turning in current events on Monday. Any assignments for the first grading period needs to be turned in by September 26. Chapter 3 will be a very short chapter. Monday: Test - turn in chapter packet before the test Chapter 3 Vocabulary Read pages 76-83 for Tuesday Tuesday: EQ 3-1 Notes:  What is the consitutional basis for federalism? Read pages 83-84 for Wednesday Wednesday: ·        Essential Question Notes 3-2:  What are the states’ obligations to each other? Read pages 84-94 for Thursday Thursday: Essential Question 3-3 Notes:  How has the shift from dual federalism to cooperative federalism change intergovernmental relations? Friday:   Vocabulary quiz for chapters 1-2-3.  20 questions.  

Extra Credit Opportunity: September 17 3 p.m.

There will be an opportunity to earn extra credit by attending the annual Constitution Day lecture at the Mother's Day Shrine (in the basement) on Sunday, September 17 at 3 p.m.  This annual events features one speaker each year who is serves in the law or public service sector.  He or she speaks for about 30 minutes about how the Constitution makes an impact on lives and society.  There is usally a reception with light refreshments that follows.  I do not know who this year's speaker is yet. If you attend, you will be asked to stay for the duration of the lecture.  You will need to sign in with Mr. Zukowski.  By doing this you will recieve 20 bonus points.  You could recieve 30 additional bonus points if you write a narrative essay about the event.  You would need to include aspects of the lecture we have already covered in class as well as what kind of impact the lecture had on you.  This should be about the length of a one-sided hand-wri...

AP Gov update for September 11-15

"Where were you when the world stopped turning" was a song Alan Jackson wrote shortly after 9/11.  This is a day to remember the events of that day as well as how people and government reacted to the events of that day.  This will take up the majority of the class time on Monday. Here is the agenda for class on the week: Monday: Current Events for the second half of the alphabet Madisonian Map 9/11 Conversation Read pages 54-56 for Tuesday Tuesday: Students will be assigned questions from the study guide to answer specific questions EQ Notes 2-4 on the Ratification of the Constitution.
