AP Gov Update for March ????? (when we get back to school)

It has been an interesting few weeks.  I hope everyone, no matter which side you take, has been able to observe this process of stakeholders being involved in the lawmaking process.  There has been a lot of action on all the sides to remedy the sitatuion.  We will have conversations about this process once we are back in the classroom. 

When we get back to school, we will be reviewing the packet pages you all have completed.  Current Events (Grading Period 5, #1)for the first half of the alphabet will be due on the second day back and the Current Events (Grading period 5, #2) for all students will be due on the fourth day back. 

***This is slated to change.  Day 1 is our first day back. 

Day 1:
  • Return the assignments that you were supposed to work on when there was no school.
  • We will look at the people and the staff that surround the president.
  • EQ Notes 12-3
  • Read pages 414-422 for Day 3.

Day 2:

  • Current Events for first half of the alphabet due. (Grading Period 5, #1)
  • We will view Crash Course videos about the responsibilities of the President.  


Day 3:

  • EQ Notes 12-4:  We will look at the roles of the President when sharing powers with other branches of government.
  • Read pages 422 to 427 for Day 4.  


Day 4:

  • Current Events for all students due. (Grading period 5, #2)
  • EQ Notes 12-5:  Continue sharing of powers of the president.
  • Read pages 428 to 436 for Day 5.  


Day 5: 

  • Crash Course Video:  We will look at how the Presdident interacts with the media.  
  • EQ Notes 12-6:  The President and the Media.  

Day 6:
  • Essential Question Quiz - Questions to be posted later.  
  • Vocabulary Quiz (chapters 8, 11, and 12)

Day 7:
  • Turn in packet
  • Chapter 12 Test
  • Chapter 15 Vocabulary

Last Hoorah before the AP GOV Exam!

This is the last hoorah before the AP American Government and Politics Exam.  You all have been preparing for this exam all year and I wish you the best tomorrow.  If you need any last-minute pointers, let me know and I'll give you advice. You will need to log on using your exam ticket at about 3:30 on Monday, May 11.  You will need to log into a demo exam to check and see if your device is compatible.  The exam will start at 4:00 p.m. and will ultimately be over by 4:50. I have posted a video to tell you all "Hoorah" and best wishes on the exam. I do not have any assignments for you this week.  But I hope you take the time to turn in some things and include your reply to the Flipgrid video .  I would like to see your face and hear your voice. This was supposed to be your last week as a senior in school, and I truly miss this annual ritual.  It should have been a once in a lifetime ritual for you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do...

Social Studies Fair Information

This is information about the Social Studies Fair: Wednesday, January 30 from 4:00 - 6:30. Set up starts in the Taylor County Middle School library at 3:30. Please bring your presentation board and abstract with you. Mr. Zukowski will not be at school on Tuesday, but you can message him on Tuesday if you have questions.   If you need transportation to the school, let Mr. Zukowski know. There is a snow day or Ice Pack day, further instructions will come. If you are not able to attend due to practice/game/competition or work, let Mr. Zukowski know in class on Monday.
